What color is the hymen

The hymen is pink in color and has a moist surface covering a thin fold of mucous membrane with a hole in the center from which menstrual blood flows out of the female vagina. The hymen can be ruptured by external forces during sexual intercourse, strenuous exercise or improper use of tampons, leaving a hymen scar. During puberty, the hymen is protected from the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms into the vagina. Pay attention to good personal hygiene, choose cotton fabric for underwear, mainly comfortable and loose. Wash your vulva with warm water every day. It is not advisable to use soap or any kind of lotion to wash your vulva or vagina, as this may damage the normal weak acidic environment in the vagina and cause the bacteria to lose their balance and induce infection.
