Dietary arrangement for 1 month after cholecystectomy

The function of the gallbladder is to store and concentrate bile so that it can be drained into the duodenum after eating to help digest food. After removal of the gallbladder, the bile loses its storage and concentration site, and the thin bile will be less able to digest and decompose fat, so indigestion and diarrhea may occur after eating high-fat food. With compensatory enlargement of the bile ducts, which gradually replace the role of the gallbladder, normal fat intake can be gradually restored. The dietary arrangement after cholecystectomy is as follows: 1. Day after surgery: fasting, mainly parenteral nutrition, i.e. intravenous supplementation. 2.Day 1 after surgery: start drinking water, parenteral nutrition is the main focus; 3.Day 2-4 after surgery: start from clear liquid diet (such as rice soup without rice grains, juice), to fat-free liquid diet (such as rice porridge, skim milk), gradually transition to low-fat semi-liquid diet (such as lump soup, wonton, noodles, noodles), forbidden to eat all kinds of chicken soup, duck soup, bone soup, etc.; 4.Day 5-14 after surgery: high-calorie, high-protein low 5, 5-14 days after surgery: high-calorie, high-protein low-fat semi-fluid diet gradually transitioned to high-calorie, low-fat soft rice or normal rice, at this time, you can boil lean meat to eat after soup, or choose low-fat fish and shrimp, etc.; 5, 1 month after surgery: normal balanced diet can be. The fat content in food should be gradually increased so that the body has a gradual adaptation process. It is not necessary to have a long-term low-fat diet after cholecystectomy, and the body can resume a normal diet after a period of adaptation. The normal balanced diet mentioned here is the dietary structure recommended in the dietary guidelines for Chinese residents, and is not simply equal to everyone’s pre-operative dietary habits! People who have bad eating habits before surgery (such as excessive intake of desserts, puffed food and other snacks, eating meat or a lot of nuts every day, and excessive oil and salt in stir-fry) need to adjust their dietary structure after surgery, otherwise other health problems may occur. After surgery, the intake of fresh vegetables and fruits can be increased appropriately to replenish sufficient amount of vitamins; drink sufficient amount of water, >2000ml/day. Regular work and rest, no late night; avoid overeating; quit smoking and limit alcohol.
