Adrenal adenomas are benign epithelial tumors of the adrenal cortical cells that are classified as functional or nonfunctional adenomas, and their pathogenesis is related to adrenal secretion dysregulation. Symptoms of functional adenomas are mainly associated with cortisolism and primary aldosteronism. Most of them are treated by drugs and surgery. 1. Drug treatment: different drugs are adopted for different etiologies, such as steroid synthesis inhibitors, such as miltefosine, which are mainly used in patients with cortisol adenoma; glucocorticoid receptor antagonists, such as mifepristone, which are mainly used in patients with cortisol adenoma; and aldosterone antagonists, such as spironolactone, eplerenone, etc., which are mainly used in patients with aldosterone tumors. 2. Surgical treatment: adrenal adenoma lumps gradually increase in size, showing symptoms such as centripetal obesity, fatigue, hirsutism, facial acne, hypertension, increased nocturia, increased blood and urine aldosterone levels, etc., which can be treated by laparoscopic surgery to remove the adenoma. The cause of adrenal adenoma is not clear, so there is no effective way to prevent it, only to go to the hospital as soon as possible for consultation, early detection of the problem and early treatment.
