Is lymphangioma serious?

Lymphangiomas are usually not serious and have a very low probability of causing a life-threatening condition. Lymphangioma is caused by benign dilatation of lymphatic vessels, and it is widely recognized that lymphangioma is a benign disease. Most patients have no obvious self-conscious symptoms, and the main site of development is the posterior triangle of the neck. Clinical manifestations include painless lumps with fluctuating sensation, soft texture, and yellowish liquid outflow after rupture. If the tumor increases in size and infection, bleeding, torsion or pressure on the surrounding tissues occurs, fever, pain, dyspnea and other accompanying symptoms may also appear. Lymphangioma is not easy to have recurrence and distant metastasis, and has less damage to organ function. It can be treated by aspiration of tumor cystic fluid, heat therapy, radiotherapy, injection of sclerosing agent after aspiration, etc. For patients with recurrent attacks, surgical resection can also be performed, and the prognosis is generally good. Patients with lymphangioma should go to regular hospitals in time for consultation and symptomatic treatment to avoid delaying the course of the disease and aggravating the condition.
