What is tubular adenoma of the sigmoid colon?

Sigmoid tubular adenoma refers to a bulge in the mucosa of the sigmoid colon that bulges into the intestinal lumen, and is a benign tumor that belongs to one of the classifications of sigmoid polyps.
Sigmoid tubular adenoma is diagnosed by pathology, usually not more than 2cm, the largest about 2cm. Clinical treatment is based on the morphology, size, number of tumors and the length and thickness of the tip to choose the treatment method, commonly used endoscopic treatment or surgical treatment.
Endoscopic treatment is suitable for tubular adenomas with tumors smaller than 2cm; surgical treatment is used for tubular adenomas of the sigmoid colon that are larger than 2cm or cause narrowing of the intestinal lumen.
Although tubular adenomas of the sigmoid colon are benign tumors, patients who have been diagnosed with them should be treated in a timely manner and should undergo regular follow-ups to prevent the possibility of cancerous changes.
