For those with deficiency in yang, Jin Gui Kidney Qi Pill and Gui Hui Di Huang Wan can be used; for those with deficiency in yin and yang, Zuo Gui Wan and Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan can be used. 1. Jin Gui Kidney Qi Pills, which is composed of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Radix et Rhizoma Ophiopogonis, Radix et Rhizoma Ophiopogonis, Cinnamomum Cassiae, Rhizoma Zedoariae, and so on, is a tonic to the kidney and helps to promote yang. It is not recommended for pregnant women. 2. Zuo Gui Wan can be used in cases of deficiency of true yin, which is composed of Semen Cuscutae, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparatae, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum and Fructus Lycii. Zuo Gui Wan has the effect of nourishing the kidney and tonifying the yin. It can be used to regulate symptoms such as night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), facial redness and other discomforts caused by deficiency of genuine yin, and the externalization of yang qi. It is contraindicated for pregnant women and forbidden for children.
