What to do when you have chicken pox and a high fever

Babies with chickenpox high fever should be actively given antipyretic treatment, and promptly go to the hospital for treatment of the original disease. Chickenpox is caused by varicella-zoster virus infection, and most children with chickenpox have a low-grade fever. If the temperature is found to be over 38.5 degrees, medication such as oral acetaminophen should be given to reduce fever. In addition to medication, physical methods such as wiping the baby’s body and using fever-reducing patches can also be used to help lower the baby’s temperature. For the primary disease, the treatment of chickenpox is based on medication, specifically the application of antiviral drugs (e.g., acyclovir) and topical medications (glycerite lotion). If secondary bacterial infection occurs, antibiotic drugs should be used appropriately to antibacterial and anti-inflammatory to relieve the uncomfortable symptoms. It is recommended that if the baby has a high fever that does not go away and is not in good spirits, he/she needs to see a doctor in time and use medication under the doctor’s guidance.
