Symptoms of cerebrovascular disease

The main manifestations of cerebrovascular disease are hemiplegia, aphasia, loss of calculation and memory skills, and blindness if it affects vision. Cerebrovascular disease (including hemorrhagic and ischemic cerebrovascular disease) is also known as cerebral stroke in Chinese medicine. The clinical manifestations of cerebral stroke are very diverse, and hemiparesis and aphasia are most common because of the abnormalities of the cerebral vessels on the affected side, and hemiparesis is the most common manifestation, but of course a large cerebral infarction, resulting in occlusion of the middle cerebral artery, may affect the entire limb or cause the respiratory and circulatory center to fail, leading to sudden death. Patients may also experience speech disorders such as slurred speech and motor aphasia. Patients with cerebral hemorrhage may also experience numbness in the limbs, headache, and jet vomiting. The most reliable tests are imaging, such as CT and MRI, which have a great advantage in diagnosing cerebrovascular disease, and also pay attention to differentiation from other organic brain diseases. Patients with cerebrovascular malformations, for example, will have persistent recurrent headaches, and patients with brain tumors will also have headaches, limb dysfunction, vomiting, and visual impairment.
