In order to reduce the swelling after wisdom tooth extraction, cold compresses should be applied first after wisdom tooth extraction to limit the swelling, and then hot compresses should be applied 48 hours later to promote the dissipation of the swelling. Do not eat spicy and stimulating foods for two weeks after extraction, avoid staying up late, and rinse your mouth with salt water after meals to prevent infection.
