Rapid elimination of sympathetic arousal can be accomplished by tongue depressing maneuvers, carotid sinus compression, eye pressure, Valsalva maneuvers, and so on.
1. Tongue depressing action: use tongue depressor to stimulate the palatine pituitary to induce nausea and vomiting. If there is no tongue depressor around, chopsticks can be used to stimulate the uvula of the throat to induce nausea action.
2. Carotid sinus pressure: the knot of the throat on both sides of the midline to move outward for about one centimeter, you can touch the bilateral carotid artery, carotid sinus is located in the carotid artery outside of the upper, massage the carotid sinus on one side, you can quickly eliminate the sympathetic excitation, note that you can never press both sides of the carotid sinus at the same time.
3. Pressure on the eyeballs: use the five branches of the front end of the human hand to press on the orbits and eyeballs, with both eyes closed, use the thumb on one side of the orbits to moderately press on the lower part of the eyeballs. Retinal detachment, glaucoma patients are prohibited.
4. Valsalva maneuver: Valsalva maneuver refers to holding the breath after deep inhalation and exerting oneself to do exhalation, and holding the breath after deep exhalation and exerting oneself to do inhalation.
Sympathetic and vagus nerves play the role of mutual antagonism, the above methods are rapid stimulation of the vagus nerve, in order to quickly eliminate sympathetic excitation.
People with sympathetic excitation should seek medical attention to clarify the cause of the disease and be treated accordingly under the guidance of a physician.
