What is a wheal?

  The other is called internal mydriasis, also known as internal blepharitis, which is an acute purulent inflammation of the outer lid gland, often due to bacterial invasion at the mouth of the lid gland.  Clinical manifestations Initially, the eyelid is itchy. It is painful and gradually increases. The eyelid is restrictedly congested and edematous, with significant pressure pain. A hard nodule can be found near the lid margin and localized pressure pain is evident. This is more pronounced in the lateral canthus and may be accompanied by edema of the lateral bulbar conjunctiva. After a few days, the nodules gradually break down, the pus drains, the redness and swelling rapidly subsides, and the pain is relieved. In children with poor constitution and weak resistance, or when the virulence of the causative organism is particularly strong, the inflammation may extend to other surrounding lid glands and form multiple pus spots. Severe cases may be accompanied by fever, chills, and other systemic toxic reactions. The lymph nodes in front of the ear are enlarged and have pressure pain.  Treatment 1. Local hot compresses can be applied in the early stage for 15-20 minutes each time, which can often subside.  2, local point antibiotic eye drops, eye ointment.  3.Serious or systemic reaction, systemic application of antibiotics, oral or intramuscular injection.  4.For those who have formed abscess, the abscess should be excised and drained.  5.For children with recurrent disease, nutrition should be strengthened, partiality should be corrected, and attention should be paid to local cleanliness and hygiene of the eye.
