The cause of chest pain with hand pressure is determined by the patient’s age, obesity level, and relevant medical history. If the patient has a history of trauma, consider whether there is a local chest wall contusion or rib fracture if the chest is painful with hand pressure. If the patient denies a history of trauma and has a recent cough or cold, there is no pleurisy or lung infection. If the patient is older than 40 years old and more obese, consider whether there are myocardial ischemic-like diseases, such as coronary artery disease and angina pectoris, and exclude them one by one by examination. In addition, check for trauma, history of infection, costochondritis, etc. Costochondritis mostly occurs in the second and third rib cartilage, so the specific situation can only be known through examination, and cannot be judged only by superficial phenomena.
