There are no contraindications between American ginseng and ginger, and there are no studies showing that taking American ginseng and ginger together will produce adverse reactions.
Radix Panax Ginseng, sweet, slightly bitter and cool in flavor, belongs to the lung, heart and kidney meridians. It has the effect of clearing heat and generating body fluid, tonifying qi and nourishing yin. It can be used to treat qi deficiency and yin deficiency, coughing, phlegm and blood, internal heat and thirst (internal heat accompanied by symptoms such as eating, drinking and urinating), qi deficiency and fluid injury, deficiency heat and fatigue, dry mouth and throat and other conditions.
Ginger is pungent and warm in flavor, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and lung meridians. It has the effects of relieving surface cold (removing cold from the muscle surface), resolving phlegm to stop cough, warming the stomach to stop vomiting (treating vomiting caused by stomach cold by warming the spleen and stomach), and relieving the toxicity of fishes and crabs. It is mainly used for treating wind-cold cold, stomach-cold vomiting, cold spleen and stomach, fish and crab poisoning and other diseases.
There is no contraindication between American ginseng and ginger, so the two medicines can be brewed together. It should be noted that the medicinal ingredients precipitated from Chinese herbs in water are relatively small, their efficacy and effects are limited, and they cannot replace medication to treat diseases.
If you are experiencing discomfort, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions, do not blindly use your own medication, so as not to delay your condition.
