Cang Er Zi is sweet and warm in nature and belongs to the lung meridian. It has the effect of dispersing cold and removing dampness, opening the orifices and relieving pain, and can treat dizziness and headache, darkness in the eyes and tinnitus. Cang Er Zi goes up to the top of the head, dispels wind and disperses evil, and is good for treating dizziness and headache caused by external wind upheaval, often combined with Xin Yi. It can also treat dimming of the eyes, tinnitus and deafness, and Cang Er Zi is often used with rice to cook porridge for consumption. It is good for treating rheumatic arthritis and itchy skin. It is pungent, bitter, dry and warm to dispel cold, and is good for treating joint pain and itchy skin caused by external invasion of wind-cold and dampness, and Cang Er Zi can be used with Cang Er Hua. It can also be used for furuncles, swelling and poison, bruises and injuries, pungent, dispersing, warming, promoting blood circulation, relieving swelling and pain, and for swelling and pain caused by heat and poisonous stagnation of qi, and for the beginning of furuncles, it can be used with raw licorice.
