Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets have an effect roughly 23 to 24 hours after administration, at which time the drug concentration in the plasma reaches a peak, and steady-state concentrations are reached after 4 to 5 consecutive days of administration.
Paliperidone extended-release tablets are used for the treatment of schizophrenia in adolescents aged 12 to 17 years (weight not less than 29Kg).
After paliperidone extended-release tablets are taken, the drug concentration in plasma rises steadily, roughly peaks around 23~24 hours, gradually exerting its therapeutic effect, and the drug concentration in plasma stabilizes and exerts its stable therapeutic efficacy after 4~5 days of continuous administration.
Common adverse reactions to paliperidone extended-release tablets are weight gain, drowsiness, sedation, inability to sit still, abdominal pain, acne, and gastroenteritis. Contraindications are known hypersensitivity to its ingredients.
Note that this product is not indicated in patients with severe gastrointestinal stenosis. Paliperidone extended-release tablets should be used under the guidance of a clinician, do not self-medicate or increase the dose of the drug to avoid causing adverse reactions.
