Early recognition and diagnosis of stroke is important. If a stroke patient is detected early after the onset of the stroke by the family and taken to hospital early, it makes a significant difference to the prognosis of the stroke patient’s condition. The signs and symptoms of stroke can be summarized by four letters in English: F– facial numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the face; A– arm numbness or weakness, especially on one side. S– slurred speech or difficulty speaking; T– time, call an ambulance immediately if the above symptoms occur. Remembering the four letters of the above signs and symptoms of stroke and getting them to the hospital for examination can significantly reduce the death and disability rate of stroke patients.
