Chest CT, cranial magnetic resonance, abdominal ultrasound and blood test are generally needed after lung squamous cancer resection.
Chest CT after lung squamous cancer resection can observe the recovery of lung squamous cancer after surgery, while cranial magnetic resonance and abdominal ultrasound are for checking whether there is any tumor metastasis in various organs or lymph nodes, and blood test is for checking whether there is any elevation of tumor markers. These examinations are done to find out whether squamous lung cancer has recurred in time and take timely measures to treat the disease.
Basically, post-surgery checkups for squamous lung cancer should be conducted once every half a year within 2 years after surgery, and once every year after 2 years after surgery. Chest CT and blood test should be checked in the first and third month after surgery, and abdominal ultrasound and cranial magnetic resonance test should be performed when necessary, and the details should be consulted with the attending doctor, and the checkup must be done on time to avoid delaying the disease.
After resection of squamous lung cancer, patients should have regular rechecks. It is suggested that patients should ask their doctors carefully and have regular rechecks under the doctors’ guidance.
