Usually after 2-3 hours of misoprostol application there is a small amount of vaginal bleeding and paroxysmal pain in the lower abdomen, in which case the embryo or fetus will be expelled. Sometimes a woman may not be sensitive to the above mentioned drugs. If there is no such reaction after 6 hours, if there is no significant softening of the uterine orifice or if the cervical canal is long, a second application of misoprostol may be considered. If after 2 repeated applications the embryo is still not successfully expelled, a second application of misoprostol may be considered on the second day, preferably with other options for further expulsion or termination.
