The neoplasm seen in the left pharyngeal crypt is not smooth and hoarse, which is more consistent with the possible symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and the possibility of carcinoma cannot be ruled out. The diagnosis can only be confirmed after further relevant examinations under doctor’s guidance.
Nasopharyngeal cancer is one of the high incidence malignant tumors in China, which mostly occurs in pharyngeal crypt, posterior wall of nasopharyngeal apex and lateral wall, and the lesions can be in the form of nodule, cauliflower, infiltration, ulcer and submucosal, etc. The surface is rough and uneven, and easy to bleed. If it occurs in the left pharyngeal crypt, it may manifest as a neoplasm with non-smooth surface.
Early stage of nasopharyngeal carcinoma may present symptoms such as blood in snot and nasal congestion. If the tumor occurs in the left pharyngeal fossa, tinnitus, ear blockage and hearing loss may occur due to compression or obstruction of pharyngeal opening of Eustachian tube. In addition, the tumor in the pharyngeal fossa is easy to destroy the bone at the base of the skull or invade the cerebral nerves through the rupture hole and the internal carotid artery, resulting in headache, diplopia, choking and coughing, hoarseness and other symptoms.
Once the above symptoms appear, the patient should go to ENT department of the hospital in time. If the left pharyngeal saphenous fossa is found to have new organisms with non-smooth surface and hoarseness, systematic examination should be carried out according to the doctor’s instructions for a clear diagnosis.
