Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets are used for the treatment of acute attacks of migraine with or without aura in adults. There are some adverse reactions associated with taking sumatriptan succinate tablets such as acute myocardial infarction, fatal arrhythmia, cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, elevated blood pressure, allergic reaction vasospasm, abdominal pain, bloody stools, nausea and vomiting, migraine, headache, decreased salivation, dizziness, and drowsiness. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and peripheral vascular disease, other symptomatic cardiovascular disease, patients who have used monoamine oxidase inhibitors, patients who have used any medication that contains ergotamine within 24 hours, patients with severe hepatic impairment, uncontrolled hypertension, patients who are allergic to sumatriptan, breastfeeding women and the elderly are contraindicated.
