High creatinine needs to be identified as the cause of the disease and treated accordingly. If it is caused by physiological reasons such as high muscle content or eating more meat, creatinine may return to normal after adjusting lifestyle habits and no special treatment is needed. If it is caused by acute kidney injury or chronic renal insufficiency that leads to elevated creatinine, it needs to be treated according to the cause.
1. Physiological reasons: some patients may have elevated creatinine due to high muscle content, or eating more meat and exercising more, after adjusting lifestyle, creatinine may return to normal, usually no special treatment is needed.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Acute kidney injury: high creatinine may appear in acute kidney injury caused by various reasons, which needs to be treated according to the cause. For example, drug-induced acute kidney injury needs to stop using relevant drugs, infection causes need to apply antibiotics and other drugs for treatment, and insufficient renal blood flow caused by excessive blood loss needs to be rehydrated and other related treatments.
(2) Chronic renal insufficiency: such as diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive renal damage, etc. Actively treat the underlying disease, preferred ACEI or ARB drugs such as captopril, valsartan, etc.; can be used to reduce creatinine drugs, such as medicinal charcoal tablets, Haikun Kidney Xie, etc.; dialysis treatment if necessary.
If patients find that the blood creatinine is elevated, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals in a timely manner, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
