Post-operative urethral stricture management countermeasures for urethral ectopia

Many patients struggle with many discomforts after urethral stricture surgery, such as stinging pain at the urethra, abnormal sensation at the urethra, overflow of fluid or even blood at the urethra, and other manifestations. In fact, these manifestations are all common after urethral stricture surgery. In addition to the pain at the urethral orifice caused by local incisional urethral irritation, many postoperative urethral procedures also have a pain radiating to the urethral orifice. Generally, this pain is tolerable, but I have seen some patients who were in pain due to post-X pain. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain medications are effective for most patients, although special individuals require higher grade medications for pain relief. There are several types of overflow from the urethra, including bleeding, pus and general secretory fluid. If it is bleeding fresh blood then the nurse and doctor should be notified and proper and timely treatment is necessary in this case. If there is some soft and sticky fluid flowing, it is mostly due to excessive fluid secretion due to urethral irritation or surgical wound exudate. Prompt cleaning and regular perineal scrubbing can provide relief. In conclusion, there is no need to be nervous about the many discomforts of the urethral opening after urethral stricture surgery; correct and timely treatment is positive and effective.
