What is urinary tract obstruction?

Urinary tract obstruction, also known as urinary tract obstruction, is a condition of complete or incomplete obstruction due to various reasons, and urine accumulation and retention in the urinary tract. The accumulation of urine may lead to conditions such as fluid accumulation in the kidneys and ureters, and in severe cases, inflammation, infection, and kidney dysfunction may be induced. Depending on the location of the obstruction, it is broadly divided into: 1. upper urinary tract obstruction, which refers to obstruction in the renal pelvis and ureter, and 2. lower urinary tract obstruction, which refers to obstruction in the bladder and below. The higher the site of obstruction, the greater the degree of damage to the kidney. Acute obstruction refers to the sudden onset of obstruction, mostly manifested by acute urinary retention, and chronic obstruction. According to the severity of the obstruction, it can be divided into: 1) complete obstruction and 2) incomplete obstruction. After the accumulation of urine, bacteria will proliferate and multiply inside the urinary system, leading to inflammation and infection, which may lead to pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, etc. In serious cases, abscesses may be formed, and secondly, due to the accumulation of urine, impurities in the urine may precipitate and stones may be formed, which in turn will stimulate the urinary system and aggravate the existing symptoms. In short, once the situation of urinary tract obstruction occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention in a timely manner to find the cause of targeted treatment to avoid delays in the treatment of the condition.
