What is pyloric obstruction?

Pyloric obstruction is simply a digestive disorder caused by a blockage in the pylorus of the stomach, which prevents food from reaching the duodenum and jejunum. The pylorus is the part of the stomach that connects to the intestines and is the narrowest part of the digestive tract, so it can easily become blocked. Technically speaking, pyloric obstruction is also a type of intestinal obstruction, and it is a high intestinal obstruction. When the pylorus is obstructed, the contents of the stomach cannot enter the duodenum, thus accumulating and fermenting in the patient’s stomach, and after a long time, the patient will experience nausea and vomiting. In addition, because the food eaten by the patient cannot be absorbed into the small intestine, malnutrition can easily occur. The cause of pyloric obstruction may be reflex pyloric circumferential muscle contraction due to ulcers in or near the pylorus, or inflammation or edema of the mucosal tissue near the pylorus. In addition, some chronic ulcerative diseases may also lead to submucosal fibrosis of the pylorus and the formation of scarring stenosis, resulting in organic lesions of the pylorus and permanent pyloric obstruction, which requires surgical treatment. The formation of pyloric obstruction has a lot to do with personal diet and work and rest time, so you should develop the habit of eating regularly and not drinking alcohol.
