A nasopharyngoscopy cannot see the throat because when you do a nasopharyngoscopy, you are only looking at the nasal cavity and the posterior end of the nasal cavity, the location of the posterior nostril and the nasopharyngeal structures for abnormalities. But if you want to look further down the larynx, you need to go further down, from the nasopharynx down to the pharyngeal cavity and then further down to the larynx. Therefore, if you want to go further down, it is recommended to do an electronic laryngoscopy. Electronic laryngoscopy can start from the nasal cavity and see the structures in the nasopharynx as well as the nasopharyngeal structures, in addition to the nasopharynx and the larynx. There are also times when a rhinoscopy or nasopharyngoscopy is done with a hard mirror, unlike a laryngoscope, which is a soft mirror that can generally be looked at further down, and a hard mirror cannot be looked at further down.
