Lutein is certainly good for the eyes. Lutein is mainly a vitamin necessary for the metabolism of retinal cone cells and visual sensory cells, and if this vitamin is more deficient, the vision of the retina may be affected. Patients who usually eat normally and are not picky eaters should actually have no lutein deficiency. A subset of children may be fatigued or have an irregular diet, resulting in a corresponding retinal deficiency of lutein. For this group of children, it is recommended that appropriate lutein intake can promote the nutrition of the retina and improve retinal vision. There are several ways to ingest lutein, first, by consuming finished lutein products directly, like tablets and capsules of lutein. Secondly, it can be ingested through food.
