It is generally recommended to stop taking the medication for one month after the H. pylori medication is finished, and then have the H. pylori bacteria retested. H. pylori gastritis is an infectious disease, and H. pylori is transmitted in three forms: fecal-oral, oral-oral, and medical transmission. Regardless of the presence or absence of symptoms or complications, H. pylori is always a harmful bacteria to the human body. Therefore, unless there are counteracting factors, all infected individuals should in principle be treated with eradication therapy. Currently recommended eradication therapy is generally a 10- or 14-day quadruple combination of a proton pump inhibitor, bismuth, and two antimicrobials. Proton pump inhibitors include omeprazole, rabeprazole, etc., bismuth includes bismuth pectin, bismuth potassium citrate, etc., and antimicrobials include amoxicillin, clarithromycin, levofloxacin, furazolidone, and metronidazole. Patients are advised to go to regular hospitals and use medication under the guidance of doctors.
