Horse Liver is the liver of the horse, a member of the Equidae family, and is a Chinese herbal medicine with the efficacy of activating blood circulation, regulating qi and relieving pain (relieving pain by unblocking qi), and is mainly used for treating disorders of menstruation, fullness of the heart and chest, abdominal stagnation and pain, and pain in the limbs.
Horse Liver is pungent, sweet and warm in nature and belongs to the heart and liver meridians. In the treatment of irregular menstruation, menstrual disorders and abdominal pain during menstruation, Horse Liver is often combined with Red Peony and Chai Hu; in the treatment of heart and chest fullness and abdominal pain, Horse Liver is often combined with Frankincense and Myrrh; in the treatment of pain in limbs and discomfort in joints and muscles, Horse Liver is often combined with Sangzhi and Qiangwu.
The drug should be used under the guidance of a physician to avoid adverse reactions. It should be noted that horse liver has a certain degree of toxicity, should not be overdosed, pregnant women and children should not be taken.
