Causes of mucus poop in infants



Mucus in feces may be a normal phenomenon, or it may be caused by intestinal flora imbalance, intestinal inflammation and so on.

1. Normal phenomenon: mucus in feces is the liquid secreted by the intestinal mucosa, which can protect the intestinal mucosa and promote defecation. If the amount of mucus is small, and the baby’s spirit and sleep are better, it is a normal phenomenon, so there is no need to worry too much.

2. Intestinal flora imbalance: when the infant’s diet is not proper, cold or digestive system development is not sound enough, causing intestinal flora dysfunction, so that the infant pulls mucus stools, accompanied by abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, bloating and other symptoms of indigestion.

3. Intestinal inflammation: such as bacterial enteritis, allergic enteritis, chronic enteritis and other intestinal inflammation, also easy to cause infants to mucus stool phenomenon.

There may be other reasons for babies to have mucus stools, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
