How long does it take for the chin implant to recover naturally

The commonly used materials for chin prosthesis are silicone and tumescent, which are usually sculpted according to the contour of the jaw, the aesthetic proportion and shape of the three chambers and five eyes. After the sculpting is completed, an intraoral incision is made in the lower lip, peeled to the periosteal surface, an appropriately sized cavity is separated for placement of the prosthesis, and the incision is sutured closed. The intraoral incision has no scarring and is easily accepted by the patient as it is unmarked in appearance. Usually, after chin implantation, there will be redness and swelling during the initial recovery period, and some patients may experience bruising. It takes about 3 months for the tissue swelling to completely subside, and in a few patients it takes about 6 months to gradually return to natural. The process of designing and sculpting the prosthesis is especially important because it may not return to its natural state if it is not designed and sculpted properly. In addition, after the intraoral incision, patients are advised to eat a loose and liquid diet, prohibit spicy and stimulating foods, eat more fruits and vegetables, and supplement micronutrients to promote wound healing and early natural recovery of the prosthetic chin. Patients should apply ice packs within 72 hours after surgery, and hot packs can be applied after 72 hours. Pay attention to keeping the surgical site clean and dry to prevent infection. Avoid excessive movement or collision of the chin to prevent its distortion and deformation.
