Lymphatic metastasis of esophageal cancer (esophageal cancer) usually means that it is intermediate or advanced esophageal cancer, which needs active treatment. If there is no contraindication to surgery for intermediate stage esophageal cancer, radical esophagectomy and postoperative radiotherapy can be performed, while radiotherapy and other comprehensive treatments are usually performed for advanced esophageal cancer. 1. When lymphatic metastasis occurs in esophageal cancer, TNM staging is generally stage IIb or stage III or IV. If there is no contraindication for surgery, most of the patients with stage IIb or stage III can undergo multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment such as radical esophagectomy and postoperative radiotherapy, and some of the patients can be cured, with an overall five-year survival rate of about 50%. 2. Some stage III patients and stage IV advanced patients can undergo radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and other comprehensive treatments, which can prolong the survival period and improve the quality of life to a certain extent. If lymphatic metastasis occurs in esophageal cancer, it is recommended to go to the hospital for consultation and active treatment in time.
