Nontuberculous mycobacteria are not contagious and are not infectious diseases. Positive antacid staining is mainly for Mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacteria. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is infectious and mainly causes pulmonary tuberculosis, which is transmitted by respiratory droplets. Patients need isolation treatment and the treatment period is relatively long, at least six months. Non-tuberculous mycobacteria are not infectious diseases, but they also need regular anti-infection treatment, and repeated disease can further aggravate and even cause respiratory failure and other manifestations. The treatment period for nontuberculous mycobacteria is shorter than that for tuberculous mycobacteria, at about 2-3 months.
