Diagnosis and treatment of type 2 diabetes

  The prevalence of diabetes has increased significantly over the past 30 years, and in 2013, the prevalence of diabetes among people aged 18 and above was 10.4%, according to the China Chronic Disease and Risk Factor Surveillance. The high prevalence of diabetes brings a series of consequences, such as increased risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, and various complications such as diabetic nephropathy and diabetic retinopathy. Therefore, it needs to be given high attention.  I. The diagnostic criteria of diabetes are as follows: Note: fasting state means no calories eaten for at least 8 h; random blood glucose means blood glucose at any time of the day without considering the time of the last meal, and cannot be used to diagnose abnormal fasting blood glucose or abnormal glucose tolerance. It needs to be measured at least 2 times on non-same day to determine the diagnosis, and it needs to exclude the hyperglycemia caused by stress state.  The treatment of diabetes is often referred to as the “five horses”, namely: education, blood glucose monitoring, diet control, exercise and medication for diabetic patients. Diabetes education refers to scientific knowledge about diabetes, understanding diabetes and its complications, preventing and controlling sugar, and building up confidence to overcome the disease; 2. Diet therapy is the foundation of comprehensive diabetes treatment, which requires a correct diet plan and diet structure, not blindly rejecting sugary foods, avoiding foods containing excessive saturated fatty acids, and ensuring the daily protein requirement; 4. 5.Medication refers to the correct choice of diabetes medication (including oral hypoglycemic drugs or insulin and new hypoglycemic drugs) under the guidance of a specialist, and the most appropriate one according to your economic situation.  Diabetes is a chronic disease that cannot be cured, but can be controlled and prevented. Scientific understanding of diabetes, do not blindly believe in the so-called prescriptions or cure-all drugs, I believe that it will be overcome.
