What exercises are suitable for diabetic patients

  Life is about exercise. Exercise is especially important for diabetic patients. Reasonable exercise can increase the use of glucose throughout the body, increase insulin sensitivity, and reduce fat and weight, which has a good effect on controlling blood sugar and reducing diabetes complications, but how to arrange exercise reasonably is quite important.  Patients who are not suitable for exercise are: cardiac insufficiency, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, severe hypertension, severe respiratory dysfunction, asthma, uremic phase, diabetic retinopathy with extensive fundus hemorrhage, retinal detachment, diabetic ketosis, diabetic foot, recent frequent episodes of hypoglycemia, people at high risk of cerebrovascular accidents, and people with other combined diseases that are not suitable for exercise.  Exercise should include: pre-exercise warm-up activities – exercise – post-exercise relaxation activities. Warm-up and relaxation can be slow walking, health exercises, taijiquan, muscle massage, etc.  Recommended forms of exercise are: walking for 30 minutes; or jogging, dancing, doing gymnastics for 20 minutes; or climbing stairs, cycling, swimming (slow) for 10 minutes, depending on the person.  The time and intensity of exercise: exercise can be chosen in about 1 hour after breakfast and dinner, with slight sweating on the body, heart rate does not exceed the ideal heart rate, the ideal heart rate = (220 – age) × 70%. If the age is 60, the heart rate should not exceed 112 beats per minute.  Bring a small amount of cookies, candy backup when exercising, it is best to exercise in a group or carry a card stating that you are a diabetic, address, emergency contact number, etc.  Wear cotton underwear, socks, cloth shoes or loose shoes, and check often if there are foreign objects in your shoes. Do not burn your feet, soak your feet in warm water, the temperature should not exceed 45 ℃, should not use your hands to estimate the temperature, it is best to buy a thermometer to measure. Fingernails should not be cut too short to avoid nail fungus. In case there is a break in the skin, especially the foot, promptly go to the hospital, do not be careless, because paralysis and carelessness may even lead to amputation.  Exercise will cause an increase in appetite and digestive function, attention should be paid with diet control, otherwise the effect of exercise is greatly reduced.
