Tonsil surgery takes a few days in the hospital

Tonsil surgery is a relatively common surgery in ENT, and so far, basically everyone is using the general anesthesia surgical procedure. For tonsil surgery in children, it generally takes 4-5 days from the time of admission to the surgery and recovery after the surgery. For adult tonsil surgery, the post-operative reaction is much more painful than in children. Therefore, the preoperative examination of tonsil surgery for adults should be a little bit more, and it may take about one week to 10 days from the admission to the surgery to the smooth postoperative period, depending on the patient’s postoperative reaction. For example, if some patients have postoperative sore throat, unbearable pain, or even have difficulty in opening their mouths to eat, it may be necessary to extend the period by 2 days and give appropriate rehydration treatment to relieve their pain.
