How stage 1b lung adenocarcinoma is treated

Stage IB lung adenocarcinoma is mainly treated by surgery, combined with postoperative chemotherapy if necessary.
1. Surgery: Stage IB lung adenocarcinoma belongs to early stage lung cancer. If the patient’s heart, lung and other organs have enough reserve function to tolerate surgery, surgery should be actively adopted to remove the lesion. The main surgical method is lobectomy combined with systematic lymph node dissection.
2. Postoperative chemotherapy: If the patient has the following high-risk factors, such as low-differentiated tumor, pleural invasion in the dirty layer, vascular invasion, and intra-air cavity dissemination, etc., recurrence or metastasis may occur, and it is recommended to carry out adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery to prevent recurrence and metastasis. Pemetrexed combined with carboplatin, cisplatin and other drugs are mainly used for treatment.
It should be noted that the treatment effect of surgery is relatively good, but there are also complications such as bleeding, infection and impaired lung function. Chemotherapy may also cause nausea, vomiting and many other discomforts.
Patients are advised to keep a good mindset, actively cooperate with the doctor, take appropriate treatment and strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for medication to avoid delaying the condition.
