How long does a nerve block injection last?

The duration of nerve block maintenance is related to the block site and block method, and also varies from person to person. For example, brachial plexus nerve block usually lasts for about one month, and some patients can last for two months. Therapeutic nerve blocks are divided into destructive nerve blocks and local anesthetic nerve blocks. Destructive nerve blocks are nerve blocks using high concentrations of local anesthetics or nerve-destroying drugs, which can block nerve conduction for a long time or even permanently (irreversibly); local anesthetic nerve blocks mainly use local anesthetic drugs to block nerve conduction function and are mostly used for pain treatment and also for surgical analgesia. The main mechanism of action of nerve block is to block the conduction pathway of pain, block the vicious cycle of pain, improve blood circulation, nourish nerves and anti-inflammatory. Compared with the traditional closure, it has good clinical effect and less side effects. After nerve block, it is important to pay attention to rest, avoid overexertion and ensure nutrition.
