Introduction: Sunmax collagen implant (Sunmax I) is a subcutaneous filler (Dermal filler), through the non-surgical way to implant collagen under the skin to increase the volume of dermal tissue, so as to achieve the purpose of smoothing wrinkles, improving facial defects and sculpting perfect skin. Sunmax collagen implant is the first and only collagen implant approved by China Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), with the registration number of State Food and Drug Administration (Xu) No. 3460037, developed by Taiwan Sunmax Biotechnology Co. Mechanism of action: Sunmax collagen implant is produced by a patented purification process, combined with advanced immune modification technology, the modified collagen has almost no risk of allergic reactions, and through innovative fiber induction technology allows the complete collagen fibers to stack more closely, so that the implanted collagen can stay in the dermis for a longer period of time. After implantation, the collagen is moderately resistant to protease and will not be broken down immediately. The dispersed collagen forms a soft and adhesive fibrous structure that stays in the implantation site to restore the depression and sustain the repair effect. After a few months, the implanted collagen will be assimilated by the body’s connective tissue and become part of the body’s tissue, but it will also be broken down by the body’s collagenase enzyme, so it is biodegradable and will not remain permanently in the implanted area. Safety and Advantages of Collagen Implants Collagen is one of the most widely used biomedical materials with a high degree of safety and biocompatibility. Double Beauty I collagen is taken from SPF pigs and the latest technology has removed the allergenic amino acid series, and the remaining part is almost identical to human collagen.
