The difference between benign and malignant tumors lies in the infiltration and metastasis of malignant tumors; infiltration is dampness, metastasis is depression; it can be seen that lipomas and hemangiomas do not have dampness; stones do not have dampness. And polyps have fire in the wet; ulcers have heat in the wet (lingering difficult to heal) chronic inflammation of the cervix wet in the fire; atrophic gastritis, mucosal leukoplakia these lingering disease is also related to wet. Then look at the TNM staging, T is the tumor primary focus, mainly local infiltration; N is intra-regional lymph node metastasis; M distant metastasis, mostly refers to blood channel metastasis. Is lymph node metastasis not metastasis “M”, but blood tract metastasis is metastasis “M”, why is TNM staging not TMN staging? There is something to learn here. Tumor infiltration is mainly caused by dampness; lymphatic metastasis is mainly caused by phlegm; bloodway metastasis is mainly caused by blood stasis, and bloodway metastasis is mostly organ and bone metastasis. Phlegm and dampness are closer in kinship, so lymph node metastasis is easier and the prognosis is better than blood metastasis. Phlegm and dampness also have a causal relationship with blood stasis, and from this perspective, dampness is responsible for the primary tumor. There is another basis for malignant tumor to be haunted by dampness: in order to grow, tumor must inactivate the surrounding cells immunity, spleen qi deficiency is related to immunity, and dampness produced by spleen deficiency is more related to immunity. In addition, if we treat the tumor with ten jujube soup, it will make the tumor stable and shrink without blood flow in the tumor, and ten jujube soup is very strong in dispelling dampness and also has the effect of removing blood stasis. From here we can also know that the evil of tumor lies in dampness. Why? Smoke can refine liquid into phlegm, wine is a hot and humid product, and sugar can quickly create dampness, so smoke, alcohol and sugar are closely related to the production of damp phlegm.
