Eye laser mainly treats glaucoma, posterior cataract, myopia, and fundus diseases.
1. Glaucoma: laser treatment can lower the eye pressure, thus relieving symptoms such as blurred vision and eye swelling. In addition, laser peripheral iridectomy and laser peripheral iridoplasty can be considered for closed angle glaucoma; laser trabeculoplasty can be considered for open angle glaucoma; ciliary body photocoagulation can be considered for refractory glaucoma.
2. Posterior cataract: vision loss after cataract surgery is mainly due to the rear capsule becoming cloudy again, and laser posterior capsulotomy is needed to restore vision.
3. Myopia: myopia correction can choose corneal laser treatment, including excimer laser and femtosecond laser, which is suitable for adult and stable myopia people.
4. Fundus diseases: For fundus diseases such as retinal vein occlusion, which have neovascularization and cause bleeding and exudation, laser treatment is also needed when necessary.
Different eye diseases are treated in different ways, so it is recommended to choose the appropriate treatment according to the doctor’s advice.
