Insomnia is defined as a type of sleep disorder, a subjective experience in which the patient is unsatisfied with the duration and quality of sleep, leading to reduced social functioning and affecting daytime social functions. Occasional insomnia has less impact on health, but long-term chronic insomnia seriously affects patients’ social function and life. It manifests as daytime dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, and lack of mental energy. The types of insomnia are: 1) insufficient sleep time; 2) poor sleep quality; 3) sleep maintenance disorder; 4) decreased sleep quality.
