Talking about the advantages of acupuncture for gouty arthritis

  (1) Colchicine: oral and intravenous medication can provide rapid pain relief, but it has obvious toxicity to bone marrow, liver and kidney, and can cause leukemia; (2) Other drugs such as anti-inflammatory and hormonal drugs can only be temporary treatment for headache and foot pain, and the toxic side effects are also very obvious. (3) The toxicity of allopurinol to liver and kidney function and bone marrow as a drug to prevent gout attacks also prevents the medical profession from promoting it. In short, the traditional western medicine treatment of gout causes “old disease is not cured, new disease is not avoided”, which makes the medical profession in a dilemma, and the gout patients cannot get rid of the devastation of the disease in the end. Why can acupuncture cure gout? Needle knife cut is degeneration, contracture, scarring and adhesion of soft tissue, needle knife cut or shred the degeneration, adhesion, contracture of the tissue, on the one hand to remove the obstacle; on the other hand, there is also the role of lifting the adhesion and make the contracted tissue lengthen. More importantly, it can also improve the local blood circulation, when the blood circulation is improved, the oxygen supply increases, the local oxygen supply increases the normalization of energy metabolism, producing a large amount of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) ATP is also known as bioenergy, it is the source of all the energy of the body, such as heat energy used to maintain body temperature, mechanical energy of muscle movement, heart, brain electricity, etc. are converted from ATP, 1 mol of glucose in The complete oxidation of 1 mol of glucose in the presence of oxygen produces 36 mol of ATP, while hypoxia produces only 2 mol of ATP and a large amount of organic acids), and the local phenomenon of “three more and one less” of more blood, more oxygen and more energy and less metabolic waste creates favorable conditions for tissue repair damage. Uric acid is a metabolic product of the breakdown of nucleic acids and purine compounds. Under normal conditions, it is excreted by the kidneys and, to a lesser extent, by the digestive tract. If there is too much endogenous uric acid or excessive intake of purine-containing foods (e.g. animal offal, etc.), the decrease in renal excretion leads to an increase in uric acid in the body when the dynamic balance is lost, which is deposited in tendons, ligaments, synovial joints and other tissues and organs, stimulating local tissue exudation and causing acute inflammatory reactions in the synovium at the joints. Due to venous congestion, reduced hemoglobin increases and the local area is dark red. Exudate is retained in the tissue interstices and manifests as local swelling. Increased blood flow and increased flow increases the skin temperature of the involved area. Increased tissue tension in the inflammatory lesion and compression of nerve endings may cause severe pain. Degeneration and necrosis of synovial cells, abnormal metabolic function, mechanical obstruction caused by exudate, compression and pain can cause joint dysfunction. 1.The effect of blockage. With 0.5% lidocaine pain point block followed by needle knife release, can reduce the patient’s pain, and can dissolve and dilute the local deposition of uric acid salts; 2, needle knife release has the effect of decompression, internal and external drainage. Needle knife cut fascia, synovial membrane, bursa, eliminate the local soft tissue of high tension state, not only facilitate the venous return, but also release the nerve endings pressure, thus the pain can be quickly relieved. The deposited uric acid salts are diluted with the blocking fluid and oozing blood and then brought into the bloodstream for elimination from the kidneys. When the needle is removed, there is usually dark red blood, joint fluid or/and toothpaste-like urate material flowing out of the needle hole, which acts as an external drainage; 3. The manipulation is performed under aseptic technique before applying a band-aid. Soft tissue edema can be eliminated by centripetal pushing and kneading. The pulling and pushing of the joint facilitates the flow of intracavitary fluid from the needle eye out of the body and eliminates secondary damage to the synovial membrane of the joint due to rising stress. Intraoperatively, the redness and swelling can be seen to subside, and the joint function can be restored to normal. None of the cases in this group were infected, and antibiotics were not required. Bed rest without elevation of the affected limb facilitated venous return and eliminated swelling. The band-aid was discarded after 48 hours. Abstain from eating animal offal and seafood to reduce the source of uric acid. Drinking more water facilitates the excretion of uric acid, prevents deposition in other parts of the body, and prevents the formation of urate stones in the urinary tract. In conclusion, as a new method of treating gouty acute arthritis, acupuncture therapy can not only rapidly control pain, eliminate swelling, restore joint function, reduce blood uric acid, avoid drug-induced gastrointestinal reactions, but also be effective in preventing the formation of advanced osteoarthritis.
