What about the 13-valent pneumonia vaccine?

The 13-valent pneumonia vaccine generally refers to the 13-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine, which is ideal for preventing diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae infection.
The 13-valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Conjugate Vaccine (PPCV) is mainly used to prevent meningitis, septicemia, and bacteremia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes 1, 3, 4, and 5 infections in infants and young children, and the vaccine’s effect is usually more satisfactory. It is important to note that the 13-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine is not effective in preventing invasive disease caused by serotypes other than this one, or by other microorganisms.
The 13-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine is indicated for infants and young children from 6 weeks of age to 15 months of age, and is for intramuscular injection only, and is mostly given to infants on the anterolateral thighs and toddlers on the deltoid muscles of the upper arms. After vaccination, parents need to strengthen the local skin care of infants and children to avoid rubbing foreign objects or scratching to prevent infection.
Vaccine is the best preventive measure against diseases. Parents are advised to take their infants to regular hospitals to receive the 13-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine, and stay in the hospital for a period of time after the vaccination in order to deal with emergencies in a timely manner.
