Can you drink tea if you have flat erosive gastritis?

For patients with flat erosive gastritis, tea is generally not recommended to avoid stimulating the gastric mucosa and further aggravating the condition. Flat erosive gastritis belongs to a kind of erosive gastritis, which refers to the presence of one or several mucosal erosion foci in the gastric mucosa of the patient. Patients may experience symptoms such as discomfort in the upper and middle abdomen, fullness, dull pain, burning pain, etc. Some patients will be accompanied by symptoms of indigestion such as lack of appetite, belching, acidity and nausea. Most teas contain substances such as tea polyphenols, caffeine, tannins, etc., which have a certain degree of irritation. The gastric mucosa of patients with erosive gastritis is itself damaged, and the ingredients in tea may further irritate the gastric mucosa, thus aggravating the condition. Therefore, it is not recommended that patients with flat erosive gastritis drink tea to avoid aggravating the condition.
