The whitish color of breast milk is mostly normal because breast milk is white or milky because it is rich in nutrients such as fat globules and protein particles. The color of breast milk is directly related to the nutrients it contains. Protein particles in breastmilk give it a white color, and fat globules in breastmilk give it a milky white color. If breastmilk is white, it may have less fat in it. When a baby is breastfeeding, the first breastmilk is usually pale yellow, known as colostrum, and the breastmilk sucked out thereafter is mostly milky, so it has a higher fat content to provide the baby’s energy needs. Therefore, no matter whether breastmilk is white or creamy, it is a normal phenomenon and has certain nutritional content, so there is no need to worry too much.
