What Colon Cancer Lymph Node Metastasis Means

Colon cancer lymph node metastasis means that the cancer cells have spread to the lymph.

When the cancer cells of colon cancer can invade into the lymphatic vessels and reach the local lymph nodes with the lymphatic fluid, lymph node metastasis of colon cancer occurs. For example, it metastasizes to colon lymph nodes, as well as paracolonic lymph nodes, mesenteric vascular lymph nodes, mesenteric root lymph nodes and so on.

If lymphatic metastasis of colon cancer occurs, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are mainly carried out at present to further control the spread of tumor cells. If the locally metastasized lymph nodes of colon cancer are not effectively controlled, the cancer cells are able to continue to metastasize to other lymph nodes at the next station; finally, they may pass through the thoracic duct to enter into the bloodstream, and even have metastasis to distant organs.

It is suggested that patients with lymph node metastasis of colon cancer should receive systematic treatment as early as possible, and at the same time pay attention to rest, appropriate activities and keep a good mindset.
