Can brain metastases occur from lymphoma?

The concept of brain metastasis from lymphoma is inaccurate, mainly because brain metastasis from lymphoma rarely occurs, only primary central nervous system lymphoma. Because there are no lymphocytes in the brain tissue, metastasis of lymphoma to the brain is almost nonexistent. Primary CNS lymphoma is more common and presents mainly as an occupying lesion near the midline, which is confirmed to be lymphoma after stereotactic puncture biopsy or surgical excision. The vast majority of these lymphomas are diffuse large B-cell lymphomas and are treated primarily with chemotherapy, with radiation therapy and rituximab if necessary. Radical resection is difficult to achieve with surgery, and even after surgery, systemic therapy is required.
