What is Psychoanalysis

When we think of psychoanalysis, we naturally think of Freud, who emphasized the subconscious, that is, many experiences and feelings of the ego are not acceptable to the superego, and these experiences must be reshaped to be conscious by the ego or simply repressed. The core of psychoanalysis is the defense mechanisms of the ego. Which defense mechanisms a person uses directly presents the strength, stability and maturity of that person’s personality. If psychoanalysis is a kind of personality appreciation, then the analysis of a person’s psychological defense mechanisms is like understanding a country through its army, and understanding a person’s physique through his or her immune system. Basically the defenses are like a switch that can be turned on or off, they shut off strong feelings, emotions from consciousness, and in any behavior we can find wishes, desires, certain reality-related things, and a part that involves moral and ethical aspects, and then there is also a whole group of defenses involved. When they fall in love with someone, they are not happy but nervous because they have 2 thoughts and they are worried that they will not be able to control their impulses and do something, one thought is that I will lose you and the second thought is that you will punish me. People have a primitive defense that is projected or internalized, often seen among the mentally ill, while in healthy people one sees mature defenses such as humor or conscious repression.
