Taken together, Codonopsis, lotus seed and cinnamon have the effects of tonifying the spleen and lungs, nourishing the heart and tranquilizing the mind, and are suitable for deficiency of qi and blood, shortness of breath, insomnia, and fatigue of the spirit (mental exhaustion and physical weakness).
Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae has the effect of tonifying the spleen and lungs, nourishing the blood and promoting the production of body fluid. It is suitable for deficiency of spleen and lung qi, insufficient qi and blood, shortness of breath and palpitation, lack of food and tiredness, yellowish color, cough and asthma, and thirst due to injury of body fluid. Codonopsis pilosula should not be used with quinoa. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear. This product should not be taken by those with solid or hot symptoms but without deficiency of positive qi.
Lotus seed is used to tonify the spleen to stop diarrhea, nourish the heart to tranquilize the mind, benefit the kidneys to astringe the essence, and stop leucorrhea. It is suitable for weak spleen and stomach, loose stools, lack of appetite, spermatorrhea, leucorrhea, deficiency vexation (vexation caused by deficiency heat in the body), palpitation and insomnia. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear.
The effects of Gui Yuan are tonifying the heart and spleen, nourishing blood and tranquilizing the mind. It is indicated for deficiency of Qi and Blood, palpitation, insomnia, shortness of breath and mental fatigue. It is contraindicated for those with dampness in the middle (too much dampness causing fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) or those with fire, phlegm or stagnant drinking (water staying in the body). The adverse effects of this product are not known.
