Does Dextran work for insomnia

  Dextran is a compounded formulation indicated for patients with mild to moderate depression and anxiety.  The main ingredients of Dextran are haloperidol hydrochloride and melitrexin hydrochloride, which are effective in the treatment of neurasthenia, psychogenic depression, occult depression, depressive neurosis, psychosomatic disorders with anxiety and emotional indifference, and menopausal depression. Due to the excitatory properties of Dextran, it is usually taken in the morning and has clear contraindications and adverse effects causing insomnia.  Therefore, Dextran can treat insomnia with short-term use, but long-term use is not recommended.
